Why is the message “3G Activation Failed” displaying on my Clear Spot 4G+ Personal Hotspot?

This message means that activation of the 3G component on your device was not completed for some reason. Sometimes it can take up to 2 hours for 3G to be activated on your device. If more than 2 hours has passed since activating your Clear Spot 4G+ Personal Hotspot, try the following steps:

  • 1. Turn your Clear Spot 4G+ Personal Hotspot OFF by holding down the power button.

  • 2. Wait about 10 seconds then power the device back ON.

  • 3. If the “Activation failed” message is still displayed, then

  • 4. Gather all your account & billing information to discuss with our CARE representatives.

    • Write down the ‘ESN’ of the Clear Spot 4G+ device (You’ll find it displayed on the packaging, as well as under the battery of the unit).

  • 5. Contact CLEAR Tech Support via Live Chat 24 hours a day/7 days a week, or at (877) 836-7773 during business hours of 9am through 10pm Pacific time.
