FAQs
How easy is it to set up the Modem?
Very easy. The Clear Modem requires no appointment, no professional installation – it doesn’t even require a phone line. Just plug in your Clear Modem, connect it to a computer or router, install and surf.
How secure is the network?
Unlike Wi-Fi, CLEAR uses a licensed 2.5 GHz frequency and OFDM transmission protocol. The combination of licensed frequencies and OFDM technology provides a very secure connection.
How do I know if my computer is compatible?
Clear Modems are compatible with all operating systems (Windows®, Mac, Linux, etc). Your PC will need an Ethernet adapter port.
How does your home service differ from what I have today?
CLEAR Internet is wireless. Unlike cable and DSL, where your computer has to be connected to receive your Internet connection, CLEAR Internet can be used virtually anywhere in your home, even in your backyard. Try doing that with your DSL and cable, even with a Wi-Fi router. Plus, CLEAR is easy to install – there is no installation appointment to wait for – set up takes just seconds.
How will my service be activated?
When you get your modem, just plug it in to any electrical outlet and then connect the Ethernet cord to your desktop, laptop or router.
Is data usage really unlimited? Are there any additional charges?
Usage is unlimited – believe it. You can upload, download, and surf as much as you want for one low price with any of the CLEAR Internet plans. We don’t slow down your connection – the way some Internet providers do – if we think you are using too much bandwidth. CLEAR Internet is just fast no matter how much you use your Internet – with no additional usage charges.
